I received my Rainbow Kids Yoga teacher certification in 2009. I taught a yoga club in a public school, offered a summer kids yoga series at the YMCA and taught several kids yoga classes. I was encouraged by my yoga teacher at the time to pursue my yoga certification. I listened to her encouragement and enrolled in my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. I received my 200-hour certification to teach yoga in August of 2010. I studied with Shannon Paige, Gina Caputo and Amy Ippoliti at OM Time in Boulder Colorado. I immersed myself for a whole summer in the anatomy, philosophy, mythology and asana of yoga. I credit my style of teaching to the wonderful gurus who shared their gifts with me. I teach from theme or dharma and infuse the flow I teach with meaning which can be felt mentally and emotionally. In 2018 I returned to my teacher Shannon to immerse myself in Anjali Restorative Yoga and receive my 500-hour yoga teacher certification. They say the yoga you should practice is the style you most avoid. This is so true! I prefer to flow and be active in my practice. Anjali is rest. This was the most challenging certification I received, and you won't find me teaching it too often. I have owned and operated Little Lotus Yoga in its current location since 2012-ish. (Time really does escape me.) Little Lotus was the first stand-alone yoga studio in Cheyenne. The studio has seen many great teachers, schedule changes and class offerings. Change is inevitable and change is what helps us to evolve. You can find me teaching many classes in the community, leading retreats and presenting at a variety of events in the community. I truly believe that everybody can practice yoga. You will me saying "there is a modification for that, everything can be modified to suit your body". I hope to meet you on your mat soon. |
